Engaged Encounter-detroit is a weekend retreat for couples planning or contemplating marriage.

It begins at 9:00 on Saturday morning and ends at 5:00 on Sunday afternoon.

Each weekend is hosted by a team of 2 or 3 married couples.

The engaged couple is encouraged to take the focus off wedding arrangements and make plans for their marriage.

The weekend offers couples the opportunity to communicate about all aspects of married life - always from the viewpoint of their own relationship and always in private.

Couples are given tools to lay a solid foundation for a permanent, Christ centered marriage.

The weekend provides structure and techniques that allow couples to confront issues in a neutral setting.

It is designed to give couples as much time to talk together privately as possible. There are no tests and no group discussions.
